As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the operation and continuous development of our container and (multi-/hybrid) cloud infrastructures. You will have access to a large set of tools and infrastructure, which will be made available to you by our infrastructure admins. Since we don't work in silos, you can take advantage of the flowing boundaries between infrastructure, DevOps and Dev and use your strengths to the fullest extent.

Excerpt of upcoming projects:
  • Orchestration through native Kubernetes clusters on Nutanix infrastructure.
  • Consolidate the existing container infrastructure
  • Migration of running services from Docker-Swarm to Kubernetes
  • Migrate the extensive baremetal content storages to S3 compatible object storages in distributed locations.
  • Review, challenge and replace/migrate legacy services and software (containers, HCI, hybrid cloud)
  • Build and establish new logging, metrics and monitoring infrastructures
  • Drive new and extensive HCI infrastructure, containerisation, migration of legacy services from VMware cluster to hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Deploy our services centrally on a new HCI cluster (Nutanix AHV)

Daily Work: 
  • Providing the development systems and tools and supporting the developers in their use
  • Early detection and elimination of bottlenecks and failures before they become a problem (site reliability)
  • Administration and optimisation of the QA infrastructur
  • Automation and administration of our tech stack with Ansible:
    • Linux operating systems
    • Database servers (MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres)
    • NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
    • Load balancing/proxy solutions
    • Web servers
    • Message queuing systems (RMQ, Beanstalkd)
    • Application Server
    • Failover cluster

This is what you are good at

  • Good knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and the necessary tools, incl. build, test, packaging, release
  • Good knowledge of (open source) tools for automation and configuration management
  • Experience with tools for code development and code review
  • Knowledge of Source Code Management Tools, Code Merging
  • You know how to use and configure monitoring tools (Icinga2) 
  • Experience with script programming and MySQL and NoSQL databases in cluster environments
  • Good knowledge of modern automation tools Automation tools like Ansible or Terraform
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of virtualisation and containers (VMware, Docker, Vagrant, VirtualBox, Kubernetes)
